This summer FairPensions hit the road and has been travelling up and down the country, attending the AGMs of some of Britain's largest public companies and biggest employers to bring our Living Wage campaign to the attention of the CEOs of FTSE100 companies. Our JustPay! campaign aims to permanently embed Living Wage standards in the UK's private sector, starting with the largest companies on the London Stock Exchange. As the AGM season winds down and we head back to our London Bridge offices, we thought the best way to make sense of the road we've travelled and the road ahead is to look at the numbers.

The plight of people being paid starvation wages across the world has been rightly highlighted many times in the New Internationalist. While the extreme poverty suffered by workers in the developing world deserves our attention, there is also growing concern over workers here in the UK being paid poverty wages.

Centrica AGM

The Living Wage campaign, started by Citizens UK, recently celebrated its tenth year of trying to boost the incomes of those on the lowest rungs of enterprise. One way to speed up the campaign is through shareholder activism, buying a share and attending the AGM of a company to raise the issue. Suitpossum reports back on Centrica's AGM.

We've launched our campaign for Living Wages in the UK and are thrilled by the positive response that we're getting. After launching on 2 May hundreds of people have pledged their support for Living Wages. Here's why:
