Investor Resources

If you work in the world of investment then you'll know that Responsible Investment isn't just a buzz-word - it's an approach to financial and business management that's on the agenda and here to stay.

Our Investor Resources are designed to be a one-stop shop for the investment professional who wants to know more about Responsible Investment. On these pages you'll find:

  • RI implementation guide for investment professionals
  • Self-assessment survey for pension funds
  • Investor briefing on oil sands (download)
  • Case study on Deepwater Horizon and our Unearth Justice campaign
  • Further resources for investment professionals

Since the UN launched its Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in 2006, a growing number of national and international organisations spanning civil society, the public and private sectors, have endorsed Responsible Investment or made it part of their operational protocol, including some of the biggest pension funds in the world.

In a climate where several established banks have collapsed, and business and political leaders are being called to account over ethics and transparency, the importance of good governance and its effect both on long-term returns and economic stability is clear for all to see. At the same time, an increasing body of respected research confirms the risk to business and shareholder value arising from socially and environmentally irresponsible investments.

We understand that as an investment expert you have a professional and ethical mandate to obtain the best returns for your clients. Our belief is that by adopting a Responsible Investment approach you will be doing that, while ensuring a more sustainable future for yourself at the same time.
