Our Team

We are proud of our dynamic staff team at FairPensions, which comprises a committed group of individuals with impressive credentials and a diverse and complementary range of experience.

Overseeing our staff team is our Board of Trustees.  We are also supported by a dedicated number of volunteers.

Catherine Howarth, CEO

Catherine joined FairPensions in July 2008, having previously been Director of West London Citizens. During her seven years at London Citizens (and TELCO) she developed a high-profile campaign for a London Living Wage, which successfully influenced a broad cross-section of stakeholders, including companies, investors, public bodies and politicians. Previously she was Senior Researcher at the New Policy Institute.

Catherine holds a First Class BA in Modern History from Oxford University and an MSc in Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics.

Catherine is a Member Nominated Trustee at The Pensions Trust and belongs to The Pensions Trust’s Investment Committee.

Louise Rouse, Director of Investor Engagement

Louise joined FairPensions in September 2009, following completion of her studies for an Msc. in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Queen’s University Belfast. Previously she worked as a finance lawyer at Arthur Cox, solicitors in Dublin. Louise holds a First Class B. Corp. Law and a First Class LLB from the National University of Ireland, Galway and an LLM from University College Dublin.

Duncan Exley, Director of Campaigns

Duncan became FairPensions' Director of Campaigns in late 2005, having previously worked as a campaigner at the Ramblers' Association. Duncan has also worked at the London Cycling Campaign and has experience in a number of environmental campaigns. He holds a degree in Economic and Social History from the University of Hull.

Juliette Daigre, Campaigns Assistant

Juliette joined FairPensions in August 2009, having previously worked on campaigns and communications for the student campaigning organisation People & Planet. She holds an LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of Strathclyde.

Ben Tansley, Finance Manager

Ben has been working part-time at FairPensions since early 2005.  He is also Head of Finance and ICT at Cycle Training UK. Ben has been Director of RoadPeace, Finance Manager of Free Tibet Campaign and Fundraiser for London Cycling Campaign and London Cyclists Trust, following a previous career in manufacturing. He holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Essex.
